That was a ride!

I came into the morning stressed that I was running late on plans to run this spot with Domenico and more friends from Run With Us, then couldn’t find parking, and of course felt the left knee continuing to be under 100% out of the gate.

With all of that in mind, I took deep breaths, kept my eyes on the 14 miles looking at me on the docket, and decided I’d make my own journey out of the day.

At about 3 miles in I slammed decently hard, which hasn’t happened in recent memory. I’m fine, but the recently-problematic left knee took the brunt of the fall, and definitely added frustration on top of temptations to stop, call this an off day, and turn back.

But, I wanted my miles.

I also knew the story could still turn around (it always can), and kept at it.

I admired many a beautiful view, hydrated, and stayed loose.

Then, as luck would have it, I eventually ran into Domenico on the trail! As always the homie added top-tier vibes, laughs, and conversation to the ride.

I’m hyped to have spent time with a good friend, completed my goal mileage for the day, caught a pretty sweet vert quota, and saw even more of the Boney Mountain Trail system, which just keeps finding new ways into my heart every visit.
