Hondo Canyon w/ Trail Homies, May 15, 2022

Back-to-back trail adventure weekends are my happy place, and I’m thankful to be back in a strong enough position to dive into my favorite part of training, and extra grateful to friends who are down for the cause of unreasonable sleep schedules and stacking miles in beautiful places.

Fossils, running through lots of undergrowth, and spectacular views all around made this first go at the Hondo Canyon Trail extra exciting for me, and Boney Mountain continues to show more reasons to love the challenges and gorgeousness it wears so well.

I’m thrilled to be looking at T-minus one week to Carlsbad 5k, short road races are a special breed of pain and fireworks, I’d love to catch a PR but no matter how I do it’s a privilege and a joy to jump into so many different distances and terrains, and I can’t wait to share game day with lots of friends at my first time at this event.
